Volunteer Opportunities

Camden-Wyoming Little League is now accepting applications for the following volunteer positions (This list is NOT a comprehensive list. However, these positions are our most critical shortages):

Umpires: Must complete a background check. Free training provided. Equipment and uniform shirts provided. Contact Rick Eachus, UIC, at [email protected] for more information.

Jr. Umpires: Preferably 15 - 17 years of age, but will accept a responsible, reasonably mature 14-year-old. NO Background Check required. Training, shirts, and gear provided. Jr. Umpires are never assigned to a game by themselves, and will never be assigned to a game within their respective divisions. In the event that another adult umpire is unavailable, a board member will be assigned to their field as a game manager. Chastising Jr. Umpires will result in immediate ejection and removal from the park. Other consequences may be determined by the board. Managers and Coaches: Background Check required. Managers: In addition to ensuring the safety of your players, providing quality instruction in your respective sports /levels, instruction in the 3 pillars of Little League play (courage, loyalty, and character), you are responsible for knowing the playing rules, maintaining a professional demeanor, maintaining league issued equipment and assisting with the maintenance of the facilities. You are also responsible for the behavior of the children on your team and all members of your team staff (Remember that only 3 adults are allowed in the dugouts during game play, and one must serve as a dugout monitor.) You are also responsible for arranging concession stand coverage on your team's assigned night.

Field Maintenance: This position is responsible for ensuring that our children have a safe facility. Field Maintenance duties include, but are not limited to: Lining the fields IAW Little League rules, minor maintenance, emptying trash receptacles, identifying potential hazards, etc. It should also be noted that field maintenance workers are needed during the post-season for any tournaments that CWLL will host, including postponements for weather (June - August; Actual dates TBA)

Please note: ALL volunteers serve at the will of the league president and at their own risk! While we appreciate your willingness to help, individuals with an incomplete or unsuccessful background check, will not be allowed to volunteer in any capacity--THIS INCLUDES TEAM MOM, DUGOUT MONITOR, AND "I'm just filling in for ..."
